Inner Sustainability and Outer Sustainability Are the Same Thing

We founded Mindy because we kept arriving at the same insight from different directions. Björn came from the outside: as a biologist, environmental activist, and former government agency director who discovered mindfulness as a missing piece. Conchi came from the inside: as a communicator and visual storyteller drawn to questions of meaning, change and human flourishing. When we met, it was immediately clear: we had the same focus. A better world. A more sustainable world. For people and for the nature we live with and from.

Mindy — Connecting Dots — is a Swedish platform for courses, lectures and conversations about sustainability, inner transformation and social change. We work at the intersection of inner and outer sustainability: how our values, behaviours and wellbeing shape the climate, the society and the future.

For us, sustainable development is never only about environment, climate and policy. It also requires an inner journey. Research in sustainability science, psychology, behavioural science and social neuroscience consistently shows that our inner state is deeply connected to our capacity to act, to collaborate, and to take responsibility. Without tending that inner dimension, outer change remains fragile.
